Wildlife We Handle:
-
Snakes
There are 38 species of snakes in North Carolina with only 6 venomous species. Snakes, while scary to most people, are typically not a threat. If you need snake removal services or snakes have taken up residency in your home, a professional wildlife technician can come to your property fast to resolve snake issues.
-
Squirrels
The eastern gray squirrel is the most common and frequently observed of North Carolina's five tree squirrel species. As much as we love squirrels, they can't live in human structures or attics. They can cause a lot of damage to roofs, wires, insulation, and hvac systems when left unchecked, but they're just being squirrels. We humanely trap or remove them and also prevent re-entry.
-
Copperheads
Copperheads are one of the most common snakes we get calls for. They are 1 out of 6 venomous snake species in North Carolina. North Carolina has one of the highest rates of copperhead bites in the US. To remove a copperhead a technician needs to come out fast, as they are masters at hiding. We love copperheads in the wild but don't one taking up residence where kids or dogs play.
-
Bats
There are 17 species of bats in North Carolina. These nocturnal flying mammals love a good attic. The bat removal process from a structure starts with a thorough inspection of the property to identify entry points bats can use and then how to safely exclude them.
-
Flying Squirrels
These cute critters are one of coolest species North Carolina has that most people don't know exist until they're found in an attic. Though extremely nocturnal and diminutive, they can cause damage or noise not matching their size since they're a very communal species. There are 3 species of flying squirrels in North America with North Carolina having the Southern Flying Squirrel.
-
Raccoons
Up to mischief and filled with curiosity. Raccoons sometimes need to be removed from attics or structures when their curiosity helps them find a way into an attic that they skipped the rental application for. Outside a structure they can also cause property damage. Trapping these critters is one solution but there are several ways to protect your property and keep them in their natural habitat without trapping as well.
-
Mice
Mice are small, persistent, and breed fast. Mice removal needs to be thorough and is sometimes an ongoing process depending on the structure they're entering in. Humane mice removal needs to be done as soon as mice are discovered. As with any rodent, they like to chew and their teeth continue to grow their entire life. Mice also tend to tunnel through insulation, leaving dime size holes or tunnels that when uncovered usually show droppings and urine stains.
-
Opossums
North America's only marsupial is the Virginia Opossum. Opossums sometimes find themselves in crawlspaces or other parts of a structure. Opossum removal usually starts with an inspection of the crawlspace or structure to see how they gained entry.
-
Rats
Rats! We got rats. Smart. Cunning. Rodents, including rats, inflict billions in annual damage across the United States. Rats constantly gnaw to maintain their ever-growing teeth, resulting in destruction of building materials and electrical wiring. This behavior not only jeopardizes property but also compromises the safety and comfort of homes and businesses.
-
Deer
Deer sometimes need to be deterred from eating people's gardens. We also offer dead deer removal when needed. Dead deer removal is fast and is normally available any day of the week.
-
Foxes
Most of the time, if you're lucky, and see a fox it is just passing through. Sometimes, fox removal is needed when livestock or small pets are being taken. In residential communities, foxes sometimes take residence under a porch or in a crawl space. Though the two fox species found in NC have red in their fur, gray foxes like the one pictured above are more common than red foxes.
-
Coyotes
One of the most cunning and intelligent species in North Carolina is the coyote. Just like with foxes, if you see a coyote its normally just passing through as they can have huge territories they roam. If you are having coyote issues with livestock, pets, or one has taken up residence on your property we offer professional coyote trapping when needed. If a coyote isn't causing an issue, the best thing to do is to leave it alone.
-
Beavers
These big rodents can cause issues with flooding, waterways, drainage systems, etc. Nomad Wildlife offers beaver trapping services, as well as beaver dam removal and methods to deter beavers. If you've ever been out on a trail or fishing and you hear a big slap on the water, you've might of just heard a beaver.
-
Birds
If you have birds taking up residency in an attic or vent, Nomad Wildlife offers humane ways to remove birds and their nests. We also provide services for chimney swifts and are trained to properly remove them and prevent entry when not in the protected season.
